Membership to the European Franchise Federation

Procedure of admittance

The EFF carries out due diligence and investigation at each stage of the procedure.
An application for membership is introduced first to the Executive Board by the EFF Secretariat.
After examination which includes a hearing in person of the representative of the applying association/federation, the Executive Board can either reject the application, or decide to recommend the application to the approval of the General Assembly, which can either accept it, with or without conditions, or reject it.

Application procedure for Ordinary and Associate membership: documents to file to the EFF

To be addressed in English to the Chairman of the EFF, and sent to the EFF office

1. Membership application form to be completed (link to EFF application form)

2. WCF membership application to be completed (link to WFC application form)

3. A letter by the Chairman or acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the applying association expressing:

 the wish to join EFF,
 and the commitment by the association, in its own name and for its own franchise members, to abide by the European Code of Ethics for Franchising,

4. copy of the Constitution/ Statutes of association,

5. Documents which describe:

 The membership scheme: membership categories, and their respective conditions
 full and detailed list of members by category, indicating clearly which are franchises
 Description of the association’s accreditation/re-accreditation scheme of members, if any or if planned,
 Membership fee structure by category

6. Describe the structure of the Board of Directors, including full and detailed list of its members (company name, function within company, particular function within the Board),

7. Country report:

 Complete EFF’s annual franchise survey form
 Describe the legal situation affecting franchising in your country (list references of franchise laws or aimed at affecting franchising specifically, if any)
 Please add to the application file any other relevant documentation such as reports on franchising in the applying country, latest franchise directory, current franchise-specific magazines, etc.)

Application procedure for Affiliate membership

1. Membership application form to be completed

2. A letter from the individual or head of the organisation stating motivating the wish to join the EFF, including what this membership is perceived to contribute to the mission and objectives of the EFF.

3. Each application will be considered on a case by case basis.
